A Historic Picturesque Setting For Dinner, Banquets and Weddings

A Little History about the Alpine Village.....
The original two-story fieldstone building dates back to 1843 and is one of Mequon's oldest remaining structures. Originally a homestead and rest stop for people traveling the old plank road from Milwaukee to Green Bay, it was transformed into the Alpine Village Restaurant in 1949 by the Buchel brothers. The Buchels, originally from Lichtenstein, hand carved the wooden beams and the chandeliers while refurbishing masterpieces salvaged from "Old Milwaukee" mansions.
Steve Petrie, your current chef and owner, began his career with the Alpine Village as a dishwasher at the young age of 15. Then, under the instruction of Werner Buchel, became his assistant chef. Steve bought the Alpine Village from the Buchel family in 1985, and along with his wife Cindy, have proudly carried on the tradition established by the Buchel family more than four decades ago.
Join Steve and Cindy for Alpine Village's special weekday menu, Friday fish fry, Saturday prime rib special and book your private banquets and weddings with us, accommodating up to 300 guests.
